Le premier feu.../First log fire...

Cela fait toujours plaisir de faire du feu pour la premiere fois. On se sent chez soi et ca represente une etape importante de l'avancement des travaux. C'est l'occasion aussi de verifier si le poele a un bon tirage et s'il chauffe bien puisqu'il jouera un role important dans le chauffage du gite.
Et ca marche super bien!...
It's always a good feeling to light a fire for the first time.We feel at home! It's nice and cozy...It represents a milestone in our selfbuild project.It's also the opportunity to check if the stove drafts-up the smoke properly and most importantly if it heats well,as it will be an important heating source for the Gite.
I'm glad to say it works!

Nous avons deja installe le systeme de chauffage central et tous les radiateurs muraux.Tout marche! Nous avons choisi une chaudiere a condensation qui est tres performante, permettant de realiser des economies. Au debut on voulait utiliser la geothermie mais comme on voulait absolument garder nos dalles d'origine au sol,on n'a pas pu utiliser ce systeme de chauffage.
The installation of the central heating system is completed and all radiators fixed to the walls.Everything is working perfectly! We chose a high-performance condensing boiler, more economical than the others.
Ideally, we'd have used geothermal energy to heat our house but we would need to remove our flagstone floor,so we decided not to go ahead with it.


Ci-dessous la chaudiere et son reservoir (ballon) pour garantir un grand besoin d'eau chaude sanitaire a tout moment s'il le faut. L'installation se trouve dans la salle de bains a l'etage. 
Below,the condensing boiler installed in the bathroom on the first floor.It will be able to supply all hot water needs.








Plus besoin de prendre une bonne douche chaude chez mes beau-parents...La voici presque finie.

No need to go to my parents-in-law to sleep and take a good hot shower...Here it is nearly finished.
